Definition

A visual optimization tool used in the analysis of Response Surface designs. It is a graphical representation of the response surface showing contours (lines) of constant response across the levels of a specific pair of Independent Variables represented along the two axes, while all other Independent Variables in the design are held constant. This plot is used to locate the point or area on the response surface where the optimum is achieved.
